C'mon boy, keep trying!

Written by Club Ciclista Riaza at 13:11 11/11-2009

Season 10 is not being a good season for C.C.Riaza.

Although our sponsor is giving us peace and quiet, technical staff and riders are a little disappointed. Frank Charles, appear to have reached its full potential. It's a shame because it promised to become a great climber. We still count on him for the future as it has shown great commitment to the team.
Moreover, the team is mired in a long streak without results. It's something that surprises everyone, because our squad has sufficient quality to be at the top of the 2nd division. In many races where we had up to 4 runners among the 6 best favorite, our best rider have arrived 15th. Riders come with good values of DP and RS, without injury, supporting their captain, but break aways always have succeed in the mountain stages. Our team, with a fighting spirit is not going to throw in the towel and their primary objective remains to become a reference in the future when discussing about riders in the mountains.
It is also true that right now we only rely on our climbing team and if they fail then the points will leave us and there will no price money for us. That's why the team has secured the services of a very young Belgian named Willy De vaddera, which has great qualities in the fight against the clock and pretty decent secondary skills in mountain and arrivals at the sprint. "Willy will be trained as a tter, and in line with developments show, might give up 400 points fixed every year." - Team Manager Homer said.

Seizing the Day Cycling XIV held every year in Cuenca, we had the opportunity to talk with Homer about his role in the Spanish selection. Homer is very proud of the great team that has resulted. "There are good riders in Spain, but we're nowhere near one of the best nations in the world, so we have all been very happy with the results of Selmo Villasenor and Rolon Basadre. Both are great riders who have had the support of a good team and great fans."
Concerning the situation of his current team also gives us his opinion: "It's true, now we don't go through our best. We thought that with the incorporation of Rudolfo Medina and Frank Charles we would have a pretty decent share of points. Is not being well and I know what it is. I can assure that all staff are involved with C.C.Riaza. The problem is that when you participate in mountain stages, you are not riding to win the race, but by being 3rd or 4th. And that's because all we know that the winner and second place will be split in a break away. We can do nothing about that."
